Michael Jackson's father Joe has followed in his most famous son's footsteps and invested in an amusement park - he's become a shareholder in a new venture in Vietnam.
The Jackson family patriarch joined fellow investors in the Long An province, near Ho Chi Minh City on Monday (14Feb11) for a special ceremony marking the launch of Happyland, a luxury $2 billion project, reports local news outlet VietnamNet.
Joe Jackson tells the website, "I like discovering different cultures in the world. I like this project the most because it is located in a beautiful cultural and natural space."
But Jackson will have a long wait before he can treat his grandkids to a trip to Happyland - construction on the site, which will include a five-star hotel, a water park, movie theatres and restaurants, is not expected to be complete until 2014.
The King of Pop was known for his love of rollercoaster rides and created his own amusement park at his Neverland Ranch in California.
