John Travolta has been accused of attempting to grope the actor Jeff Conaway while he was sleeping, by the late Grease actor's ex-fiance Vikki Lizzi. The woman told the National Enquirer that her partner was so upset by the incident that he ended his long-term friendship with Travolta.
The remarks, quoted by the UK's Daily Mail and the New York Post, will be an added blow to Travolta who seems to be fighting sexual assault and sexual battery accusations on numerous fronts. Ms Lizzi claims that Conaway made the claim in a suicide note in 2006 - he sadly passed away in 2011 from complications of pneumonia. In a separate interview, Lizzi tells Star magazine that Conaway would often claim Travolta was in a sham marriage with his wife Kelly Preston, saying, "Jeff told me that John and Kelly's marriage was an arrangement.Jeff said that Kelly knows that John is gay, and that's why she's OK with it". The accusation comes after a Los Angeles masseur filed a lawsuit against the actor, claiming he had attempted to sexually abuse him during a treatment session at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Though he later conceded to having gotten his dates mixed up, the man - known as John Doe No.1 - has since hired attorney-to-the-stars Gloria Allred. In a statement to People magazine, the lawyer said, "We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take".
The accusations will be a major headache for Travolta, who is attempting to focus on his forthcoming role in the hugely anticipated crime-drama 'Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father'.
