Jon Bon Jovi puts his looks down to ''good genes''.

The 50-year-old rocker says he knows ''jack'' about what beauty products to use and believes his youthful appearance has simply been passed down through generations of his family.

He confessed: ''No [I don't have a beauty regime], I don't know jack, I wouldn't know one thing from another. I wouldn't know what to do with moisturiser or any of that stuff, I'm not a lotions and potions kind of guy.

''Are the rest of the band? I'd imagine some of them are, but I don't go in their rooms, I'm afraid.''

In order to keep fit for his shows and tours the musician has a strict running schedule, jogging for up to six miles every day to make sure he's in top physical form when playing live on stage.

He added to BANG Showbiz: ''I work out like crazy. I love running, I'm a runner. I'm an avid runner, I don't listen to music when I run because I'd get hit by a car, I wouldn't be paying attention. I do five or six miles a day. That's my thing.''

Jon - who has children Stephanie Rose, 19, Jesse, 17, Jacob, 10, and eight-year-old Romeo John with his wife of 24 years Dorothea Hurley - doesn't feel the need to have plastic surgery as he is comfortable enough in his own skin.

He joked: ''No [I wouldn't have surgery] - my boobs are big enough. I don't see the need.''

Bon Jovi will headline the Barclaycard British Summer Time in London's Hyde Park on July 5.
