'It's My Life' rocker Jon Bon Jovi tore a calf muscle while performing with his band Bon Jovi in New Jersey on Friday night (09.07.10), but continued to the end of the set.
Jon Bon Jovi suffered a painful leg injury while on stage in New Jersey on Friday night (09.07.10).
The Bon Jovi frontman - who was performing at the New Meadowlands Stadium as part of the band's 'Circle' tour - tore his calf muscle but refused to let the incident hinder the group's homecoming show and, despite limping around the stage, played on until the final song.
The 48-year-old singer told the crowd: "Don't you worry folks, I ain't got nowhere to go. Just felt my calf muscle go. I'm old, what can I tell you?"
A spokesperson for the rocker told People: "Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle.
"Jon made light of the injury and went on to close the show with their hit, 'Livin' On A Prayer'. The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity hometown crowd, and assisting Jon off the stage."
After completing the concert, Jon received medical attention backstage.
The singer will not take any time off to let his injury heal and returned to the stage on Sunday night (11.07.10) to perform in New York, and has vowed to continue performing for the rest of the group's tour.
The spokesperson said: "The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer."
Bon Jovi recently completed a 12-date residency at London's O2 Arena.
