Jon Stewart - Jon Stewart To Celebrate Nirvana 20th Anniversary
Jon Stewart, the American comedian and television host, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's seminal album 'Nevermind' by hosting a Q&A session with the band's surviving members, reports the Associated Press.
The Comedy Central star will host the two-hour event on 24th September 2010. It will feature fans of the Seattle group, as well as drummer Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig, the producer behind their classic album. The band's lead singer, Kurt Cobain, committed suicide at his home in 1994. 'Nevermind', the band's second album, featured their biggest commercial hit 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. It has sold 10 million units in the United States alone and is regarded as one of the most important rock albums of all time. Grohl has since found success as lead singer of Foo Fighters, now one of the biggest bands in the world. To tie in with the anniversary, SiriusXM will also launch the all-Nirvana channel 'Nevermind Radio' on September 23rd 2011, which will run until 28th September.
Jon Stewart, who hosted the 78th and 80th Academy Awards, wrote the best-selling book 'America: A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction". He was named the Most Influential Man of 2010 by AskMen.com.
