Tom Jones was paid a staggering $4.65 million (£3.1 million) for a one-off charity gig on Friday (30Jul10) - but the kind-hearted crooner donated much of his fee to the Red Cross organisation.
The It's Not Unusual hitmaker took to the stage at the 62nd Red Cross Ball in Monaco and belted out a full-set of his hit tracks - and Jones' massive pay cheque worked out at more than $150,000 (£100,000) per song.
A spokesperson for the event tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "He was worth every euro."
The fee is thought to be the largest ever paid to a performer, toppling George Michael's $2.5 million (£1.6 million) demand for a one-off gig on New Year's Eve in 2006.
