Josh Homme has been discussing producing new songs for the forthcoming Arctic Monkeys album.

The Queens Of The Stone Age frontman took on production duties for some of the band's tracks when they joined him in Joshua Tree last year.

Homme discussed the sessions with Biffy Clyro, who were guest presenters on BBC Radio 1 last week.

"Oh man, it was great. We spent most of the time in Joshua Tree and it was really cool to be present and watch them go nuts," Homme told the Scottish band.

ARCTIC MONKEYS recently showcased four new songs - Dangerous Animals, Pretty Visitors, Crying Lightning and Go-Kart - at a comeback gig in Wellington, New Zealand.

The intimate show was a warm-up prior to their forthcoming performances at the Big Day Out festival later this month.

Meanwhile, the band's much-anticipated follow-up to 2007's FAVOURITE WORST NIGHTMARE is expected to be released later this year.
