British soul singer Joss Stone has taken in a new pal - she's fostering a shelter dog.
The You Had Me singer, who is currently living in New York City as she records her next album, is sharing her place with a six-year-old Bull Mastiff named Oprah after falling for the dog during a visit to Animal Haven in Manhattan.
The pet will stay with Stone until officials at the shelter can find Oprah a more permanent home.
In a video posted on YouTube.com, the singer says, "I'm fostering her while I'm here in New York making a record. I thought it would be nice to foster Oprah because she's so, so sweet. And I can't take her home because I live so far away, and I have four dogs of my own."
And Stone is loving the extra company.
Animal Haven employee Jennifer Bristol tells People.com, "She was looking for a low-key dog that needed out of the shelter but could handle being in the recording studio with her during the day."
