Joss Whedon's 'Avengers' spin-off 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' will hit TV screens this autumn and is set focus on Agent Phil Coulson.
Joss Whedon's new TV show 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' will hit TV screens this autumn.
The filmmaker's spin-off of blockbuster 'The Avengers' will be screened on Tuesdays at 8pm this fall on ABC and promises to be as action-packed as the superhero team-up movie.
Speaking at the ABC Upfront announcement, Joss explained ''['The Avengers'] worked because everyone felt included'' and said he hopes to bring the same sense of teamwork to the new show.
The program will star Clark Gregg, who reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel's feature films, as he puts together a team of special Agents from the top secret government organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D.
'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' creator Joss' new venture looks to be a sure-fire hit since the director has also assembled a class team of TV experts behind the scenes, including Jeffrey Bell ('Angel', 'Alias') and Jeph Loeb ('Smallville', 'Lost', 'Heroes'), who will serve as executive producers.
Coulson's team will be made up of espionage pro Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton); Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), a pilot and martial artist; genius engineer Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); expert bio-chemist Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and new recruit, computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet).
