'Killer Joe' actress Juno Temple is thrilled to have been nominated for the EE Rising Star Award at the 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Suraj Sharma, Andrea Riseborough and Alicia Vikander.
Juno Temple is stunned by her EE Rising Star Award nomination.
The 23-year-old 'Killer Joe' star has been shortlisted for the 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards' nod to up-and-coming young actors and feels very encouraged to be part of the female-dominated race alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Suraj Sharma, Andrea Riseborough and Alicia Vikander.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz after the announcement at BAFTA's London HQ, Juno gushed: ''I'm so excited, it's amazing! To be up there with all these extraordinary talents, all these people who are just so brilliant at their craft, so to be up there with them is just so amazing.
''I think it's such a great honour because it's about the body of work that you've given so far. It's a real encouragement to keep doing what you're doing and I find that really fantastic.''
Although Juno's career is on the verge of blowing up thanks to roles in 'The Dark Knight Rises' and upcoming thriller 'Horns', the quirky actress isn't worried about fame transforming her life the way it has for previous Rising Star Award winner Kristen Stewart.
Juno said: ''I think fame is something that obviously happens and it changes your life - and sometimes it destroys your life. It's honestly not something I think about, I just want to work. I think the thing about being an actor you can be a chameleon you can be unrecognisable when you want to be.''
Pippa Harris, Deputy Chairman of BAFTA's Film Committee, believes Juno's star quality is reminiscent of past winners like Tom Hardy and James McAvoy, and admits her wide-ranging body of work is what earned her the nomination.
She explained: ''What we've seen already from Juno is such a range of work. If you look at her in 'Atonement' and them compare that performance to 'Killer Joe' where she's playing a young American girl, it's worlds away and both of them you totally believe her in those roles.
''She's got that ability to transform herself which is what great actresses have. I think she's got a fantastic career ahead of her.''
Voting is now open to the public at ee.co.uk/bafta and the winner will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony on Sunday 10 February 2013.
