As New York Fashion Week gets into full swing, the real fashionistas aren't really looking at the catwalk - they've got one eye on the celebrities milling around the events and, of course, on the cutting edge music stars that are soundtracking this year's high profile style extravaganza. Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are expected to be putting in an appearance over the coming days, according to CBS News; perhaps the pair will be jetting to New York following their performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles?
Another big draw will be Lady GaGa's appearance at the Guggenheim museum on September 13, where she'll be launching her new fragrance, Fame. She's already given her fans a sneak preview of the ad campaign, which sees her photographed naked, in black and white, with lots of tiny men clambering all over her, covering up those body parts she didn't want exposed. Sounds bizarre? Well, you're not wrong, there. Her high-profile perfume launch will take the form of a black tie masquerade ball and of course, will feature a performance from Mother Monster herself.
Snapping at the heels of the already rich and famous, though, is up-and-coming rapper Azealia Banks. Banks made an appearance at Spin magazine and Refinery 29's Fashion Week bash on Wednesday (September 5, 2012). The Harlem born rapper is already making waves in the fashion world; she's the face of Alexander Wang's new fashion line and has also launched her very own M.A.C lip colour. Though we're not sure that the Madonna-esque leather cone-bra ensemble she was wearing on Wednesday is quite ready to hit the high streets.
