Justin Bieber 's alleged assault of a Los Angeles photographer has taken a serious new twist, after the man claimed in his police report that the young singer "physically battered" him. Though images clearly show Bieber in some sort of stand-off with the man, there is so far no video evidence, despite the paparazzi being on the scene, reports Reuters.
Deputies were called on Sunday (May 27, 2012) to an outdoor shopping area in Calabasas, about 23 miles northwest of Hollywood. A man reported having an altercation with Bieber, who was with his girlfriend Selena Gomez at the time. The anonymous photographer complained of intense pain and after requesting medical attention, was treated at the scene by paramedics. Justin's publicist with Island/Def Jam Music Group is yet to release a statement concerning the incident, and Los Angeles police are understood to want to speak with the young singer. According to Tmz.com, eyewitnesses on the scene recall how the paparazzo was blocking Bieber's car as the singer was attempting to leave. A scuffle ensued after Bieber had got out of his car and asked one of the photographers to move.
After being discovered through homemade YouTube videos in 2008, Bieber has always maintained his squeaky clean image, though his new music clearly takes a more mature direction. His latest hit single 'Boyfriend', debuted at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last month.
