Justin Bieber - Justin Bieber Soldiers On After Power Cut At New York Show
Justin Bieber 's gig at New York's Apollo Theater last night (June 18, 2012) didn't go quite to plan, the Associated Press report today. Towards the end of the packed out show, the venue suffered a power cut and Bieber was forced to end the set with an unplugged performance, whilst Bieber joked that the power cut had been caused by "all the hot girls" in the venue.
Justin's manager, Scooter Braun, told the press that the power for the majority of the stage instruments dropped out and "then we hear the fire alarm. literally, the boy blew up the Apollo. he heated up the Apollo.it was one of the most special nights I have ever been a part of." A representative from the venue said "What it turned into was an Apollo moment, like one of those impromptu things." The performance was being filmed to be aired on NBC later this week, so he started to get frustrated when he couldn't perform as intended.
Never one to be phased by a small problem like a total lack of electricity, though, Bieber clearly remembered that people used to make music even before electricity was discovered and channelled his energy into singing unplugged for the crowd. "I'm sorry the power is out," Bieber told his patient fans. "(But) you guys have always had my back. I'm going to sing 'Boyfriend' and you're going to sing it back to me." And sing it back, they did.
