Justin Bieber won the Best International Breakthrough Act prize at the Brit Awards last night (15.02.11).

The 16-year-old singing sensation beat off competition from Bruno Mars and the cast of 'Glee' to take the accolade at London's The O2, just days after leaving the Grammy Awards empty handed.

Justin had been widely tipped to take home the Best New Artist honour at the Grammy Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday (13.02.11), but lost out to jazz artist Esperanza Spalding.

The 'Baby' hitmaker appeared delighted when his name was read out at the BRITs and kissed British pop star Cheryl Cole before making his way to the stage to collect the award from Will Young and Avril Lavigne, whom he also kissed and acknowledged as his "fellow Canadian".

Looking smart in a Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket and black shirt, he thanked his British fans, whom he called "amazing".

Justin had previously admitted being disappointed about losing out on the Grammy award.

He said:"Yeah. I'm not going to lie. People were expecting me to say something else, but I'm disappointed."
