Justin Bieber 's Twitter account has been hacked and the teenage singer's followers received an uncharacteristically rude message that has since been deleted. The Sophos security firm have posted a screenshot of the prank message on their blog, revealing that it said "19 million my *ss biebermyballs." The people that had hacked into his account then went on to block and unfollow some of Bieber's contacts on the social networking site.
Justin's Twitter account has been verified, meaning that fans can be sure that it is not a false account and is definitely managed by the 'Baby' singer himself. However, it doesn't mean that the account is any more secure than any other account on the site. He's not the only well-known celebrity to have fallen foul of hackers. Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Barack Obama have also been victims of Twitter-hacking in the past.
It's not all been bad news for Justin this week though. Today (March 28, 2012), Billboard reports that his latest single, 'Boyfriend,' is headed for the top of the U.S. charts. Industry insiders expect the single to have sold around 400,000 downloads by Sunday (April 1, 2012). Prior to the release of 'Boyfriend,' the highest number of downloads that he's achieved in a week was 199,000 for 'Never Say Never' last year. Justin could even find that he manages to beat Katy Perry's 2012 download record of 411,000 for her track 'Part of Me.'
