KAISER CHEIFS have been confirmed to headline the Love Music Hate Racism show in Rotherham next month.

Due to take place at Magna on September 6th, the event has been organised by LMHR and Reverend and The Makers frontman John McClure, reports Click Music.

McClure – whose band are also on the bill – said the event had been prompted by the fact that the British National Party won two council seats in last year's local elections.

"You think how music has changed in the last 50 years and we would have none of that mixture of music and culture if the likes of the BNP had their way," he said.

"So we thought rather than do the event in Sheffield we would do it in Rotherham and say to these people 'We don't want you here, we don't want your fascist shit.'"

Other bands scheduled to play the show include THE COURTENEERS, CABERET VOLTAIRE and Roll Deep.
