Kate Beckinsale never realised she could use stylists for big events and admits her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival was a fashion disaster.
Kate Beckinsale never realised she could use stylists for big events.
The stunning actress is currently at the Cannes Film Festival and has been wowing the crowds with her exquisite outfits, perfect make-up and dazzling hair but admits it hasn't always been like that.
The 36-year-old beauty told People magazine: "Last time I was here I was 18-years-old and it was for 'Much Ado About Nothing', and I was so unprepared. I bought a body stocking at the airport that was too small so I popped out of it on the red carpet. I had Doc Martens boots on, and I think I put the flower from the breakfast tray in my hair. No one told me that you could have a hair and make-up stylist! It's a different climate now of course."
Kate has worn many stunning outfits over the course of the festival but says her favourite is the white and silver Gucci Premiere gown she wore to the 'Il Gattopardo' premiere.
She said: "I loved that dress, it was just so pretty."
Although she now has her own stylist, she admits it took a lot of preparation to look that good.
She said: "I actually went to the jury meeting that afternoon with my hair in curlers which got a few laughs from the rest of them!"
