Kate Middleton - Kate Middleton Stuns In Amanda Wakeley Dress At Solo Engagement
Kate Middleton took the bold step of attending her first solo engagement since becoming royalty, with the Duchess of Cambridge taking centre stage at a charity dinner in Clarence House, London, this week. Middleton didn't let anyone down, freely conversing with the guests at the bash and looking positively radiant in a floor-length pale turquoise dress made by esteemed fashion designer Amanda Wakeley. Middleton's known to be a fan of the British designer - at the beginning of the month she was spotted by the UK's Daily Mail wearing a Summery oatmeal-coloured dress also credited to Wakeley.
What's caused more of a talking point however is the Duchess's flowing brown locks which some sources seemed to think were aided by the use of hair extension, OK Magazine UK initially among them. However it was then revealed that what their photographers had actually seen was the mark left from a childhood scar; the newlywed's hair is in fact completely natural, though it's rumoured she uses a vegetable dye to maintain its shine and shimmer.
The UK's Daily Mirror reported that it was in fact Prince Charles who was supposed to be turning up to the party, but when he was called away to a last minute trip to Saudi Arabia, Kate happily stepped in, with a source saying "She was so pleased that her first solo engagement was for the Prince of Wales, who has shown her so much support over the years."
