Kate Winslet will be among the original cast and crew of the film 'Titanic' to appear at the premiere of its 3D revamp, it's been announced, though her co-star from the momentous 1997 film Leonardo Dicaprio isn't expected to attend. Winslet of course played the role of Rose, the upper class daughter of aristocracy who found love on the doomed ship in the form of Di Caprio's lower class character Jack. Others to appear at the London premiere, according to London 24, are co-star Billy Zane and the film's director James Cameron.
Cameron has been basking in the glory of his most recent feat which saw him use a specially designed submarine, named the Deepsea Challenger, to reach the earth's deepest point some seven miles below sea level.
The chances of 'Titanic 3D' matching the huge success of the original film are slim; released in 1997 it swept all before it at the Oscars, taking 11 awards, and raked in billions at box offices worldwide. Nevertheless it's highly likely that it will still make a huge impact on the box office, and director Cameron was effusive with praise of the new and improved incarnation. "The 3D enriches all of Titanic's most thrilling moments and its most emotional moments," he said, "More than ever, you feel you're right there going through all the jeopardy that Jack and Rose go through. The 3D kicks the whole experience up to another level."
