Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley have adopted a second little girl, according to the actress's representative, who confirmed the news to People magazine. Heigl has always maintained that adoption was the plan she always had for a family with the 32-year-old singer-songwriter.
The couple are already parents to 3-year-old daughter Naleigh - whom they adopted from South Korea. Of the newest addition to the couple's family, rep Jill Fritzo said, "Yes they have adopted a baby.No further details [are available] at this time". Back in January, the actress explained, "Josh and I started talking about it (adoption) before we were even engaged. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I'd like to adopt again". Heigl is certainly not the first celebrity to go down the route of adoption, with Angelina Jolie being the obvious example of that. Her and Brad Pitt's brood include Maddox (born in Cambodia), Zahara (born in Ethiopa) and Pax (born in Vietnam). Fellow actress Charlize Theron also recently adopted her son 'Jackson', with a statement saying, "She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy".
The adoption has come at a good time for Heigl, who has a relatively free schedule for the year ahead. She is still in the pre-production stages of her next movie 'Face Blind', about a psychologist who is terrorized by a stalker that she's unable to identity.
