Katy Perry has reportedly turned down a request from her ex-husband Russell Brand to be edited out of her forthcoming documentary 'Part of Me'. The British comedian is understood to appear in numerous scenes in the film - which follows Perry on her recent world tour - though would prefer not to be involved, following the breakdown of their marriage.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Brand is "more than a little nervous" about Perry's upcoming documentary and asked that any footage shot while the couple were still married be deleted. That request "was turned down" and Brand is unlikely to be able to stop movie makers including his scenes, as he agreed to being filmed in the first place. Russell is supposedly "worried that some of his more caustic rants may come off as making him look bad". The film will tell the story of Perry's beginnings as a gospel singer under the name 'Katy Hudson', right through to the pop stardom she has achieved in recent years. The singer also talks about her childhood, her personal life, and some scenes do appear to catch Perry attempting to resolve her problems with Russell Brand. The performances in the movie were shot during her concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 23, 2011.
Following their divorce, both Perry and Brand appear to have moved on, with the former dating Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd for a short time.
