Katy Perry appears to have moved on from comedians to rock stars, having been snapped kissing Robert Ackroyd, the guitarist with English indie-rockers Florence and the Machine. Ackroyd, who hails from London like Perry's ex-husband Russell Brand, was photographed with his arms around the pop singer at the Coachella Festival this past weekend.
The couple were also spotted kissing and hugging during Rihanna's set, fuelling speculation the musicians are now an item. Perry in particular was all smiles in a purple outfit with gold pattern, while Ackroyd donned casual jeans a white t-shirt. The 'Part of Me' singer was linked to the French model Baptiste Giabiconi last month, but Perry played down the romance at the time. She appeared to be far closer to Ackroyd at Coachella, with the UK's Sun newspaper commenting, "The tattooed musician and the leggy singer couldn't keep their hands off each other as she flung her arms around him and they swayed along to the music like a loved-up couple".
Ackroyd, who formed Florence and the MAChine with Florence Welch in 2007, hasn't given too much away on his Twitter page. In fact, the guitarist seemed more concerned with the plight of his football team, tweeting on Saturday (April 21, 2012), "What's happening to the Spurs? Wash out".
