Katy Perry married the British comedian Russell Brand in India on Saturday (23rd October 2010), but her close friend Rihanna did not attend the wedding, reports OK Magazine. The ceremony took place at the luxurious Aman-i-Khas resort in Rajasthan and a number of close friends and family members were present, however, Rihanna did not show up despite attending Perry's bachelorette party in Las Vegas last month.
The 'Umbrella' star's absence comes as a surprise due to the fact that she reportedly played a large part in organising the event, and was rumoured to be the maid of honour. However, she did not fly to India, citing 'work commitments'. A source told TMZ.com that Perry "harboured no ill feelings", and "totally understood" why the R&B singer could not make the wedding. A 'special room' had reportedly been reserved for RIHANNA, but Perry got word at the last minute that she couldn't attend.
Guests who did attend the lavish ceremony are reported to have included the broadcaster and television personality Jonathan Ross, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, and Brand's close friend, the comedian and writer David Baddiel.
