KEITH OLBERMANN is set to join Al Gore's cable network 'Current Tv', to present a news and commentary show.
KEITH OLBERMANN, the American journalist and television presenter who recently left Msnbc, is set to host a new primetime show on 'Current Tv', reports Entertainment Weekly.According to a press release, Olbermann, whose previous 'Countdown' show became hugely successful, will bring his "slashing wit, analytical eye, and distinctive commentary" to the network. Current Tv is currently in around 60 million US households and speaking about the move the 52-year-old said, "Nothing is more vital to a free America than a free media, and nothing is more vital to my concept of a free media than news produced independently of corporate interference. In Current Media, Al Gore and Joel Hyatt have created the model truth-seeking entity". It is reported that Olbermann will also serve as the network's 'Chief News Officer' and will also have an equity stake in the company. The presenter confirmed that the new show will be similar in tone to his previous work and added that his controversial 'Worst Person in the World' segment could return albeit it under a different name, he said, There may be a segment that resembles that in structure and in tone, but it won't be called the 'Worst Person in the World".
KEITH OLBERMANN, who reportedly had a four-year $30 million deal with Msnbc, left the company earlier this year under unusual circumstances. The presenter had become embroiled in a scandal concerning his support for a political candidate.
