Kelsey Grammer has spoken out about his shattered marriage to ex-wife Camille in an explosive new TV tell-all, insisting he filed for divorce after growing tired of the reality TV star's split threats.
The actor has since moved on and wed his fourth wife Kayte Walsh - but he and Camille, the star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, are still locked in a custody battle over their two kids.
Grammer refused to discuss his divorce while he was still hammering out details in court with his now-ex, but in a taped interview with U.K. newsman Piers Morgan for his CNN show Piers Morgan Tonight, the former Frasier star insists he simply gave Camille what she wanted.
The actor says, "I would give a piece of advice to women who say 'I wanna divorce' as some sort of tactic; if you say 'I wanna divorce' enough times, you're gonna get one."
And he insists he even gave his ex a parting gift before leaving her to pursue Broadway glory in New York - he agreed to film a cameo on her reality show to help her cement her role on the programme.
He adds, "The Real Housewives was my parting gift to her. Now, whether or not it worked out well for her, it doesn't matter. It was my way of saying, 'Look, you always wanted to be famous, here you go...'"
Grammer's interview with Morgan will air on Cnn on Monday (17Oct11).
