Kenny Chesney and Tim Mcgraw are teaming up for what is sure to be one of the biggest country tours ever.
The superstar pair, who first toured together in 2001, will reunite for the joint headliner Brothers of the Sun tour in 2012.
Announcing the news on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Monday (14Nov11), Chesney said, "I'm very excited to say me and my buddy Tim MCGraw, we've been friends a long time, been making music together for a long time and next summer is going to be a very special summer 'cause Tim and I are going to go out there on the road together in 2012.
"He's my brother and (my) sun, always has been, and that's why we're calling next year's tour, the Brothers of the Sun tour... Whenever I see Tim, you never know what's going to be said or happen, and that's the spontaneity that we'll be bringing to the stage every night."
The hitmakers are eagerly looking forward to the project and together they're planning a number of duets and surprise performances with the likes of Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
And MCGraw is already certain the tour will be a career highlight for him, adding, "We've talked about doing this for years and it finally just fell into place because it's absolutely just perfect for both of us. It's going to be the biggest year of our careers."
The duo will kick off their 19-date North American tour on 2 June (12) in Tampa, Florida.
