Kershaw Loses Political Battle
Country star Sammy Kershaw's political dreams have taken a drubbing, after the singer lost his bid to become Louisiana's lieutenant governor on Saturday (20Oct07). Republican Kershaw was beaten by Democrat Mitch Landrieu, who claimed 57 per cent of the state's votes to the singer's 30 per cent. Kershaw finished second in the field of five candidates. Fellow Republican candidate Gary J. Beard was third.
