Ke$ha ''never wanted'' to sing 'Die Young'.

The 25-year-old singer's latest single has been pulled from US radio stations following the tragic massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Conneticut and the blonde star says she understands why it has been deemed inappropriate because she herself was never happy with the lyrical content of the track.

In a tweet which has now been deleted, she wrote: ''I understand. I had my very own issue with 'die young' for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO. (sic)''.

The 'Tik Tok' hitmaker went on to express her sympathy for the 26 victims of the shooting, which happened on Friday (14.12.12), and appealed to fans to donate to a charity fund set up by 'Apologize' hitmakers OneRepublic.

She wrote: ''Its beyond words what has happened. Help families affected by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary by donating here: indiegogo.com/OneRepublicForSandyHook

''I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy.and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express.(sic)''

Ke$ha has previously explained that 'Die Young' - which features the chorus line ''Let's make the most of this night / Like we're gonna die young'' - is a ''celebration'' song.

She said: ''It's a celebration song, which I'm obviously known for writing those, but this one, the concept of it was to live each and every single day like it's your last and to always remain having a youthful spirit no matter how old I get.''
