Kevin Rudd has been re-installed as Prime Minister of Australia just three years after standing down.

Rudd, who had resigned from the post in June, 2010, won a leadership challenge over his successor Julia Gillard on Wednesday (26Jun13) by 57 votes to 45.

Gillard made history when she took over from Rudd, becoming Australia's first female Prime Minister. She had won an earlier leadership challenge last year (12).
