Kim Kardashian - Kim Kardashian To Run For Mayor Of Glendale: Is She Serious?
Kim Kardashian may be a brand in herself, but it appears the reality star's next goal is to make an unlikely foray into politics. Kardashian has floated the idea of running for the mayor of Glendale, California, and is eyeing the 2017 elections, reports CNN.
Kim shared her political aspirations during a clip for her sister Khloe Kardashian's E! Show 'Khloe and Lamar', saying, "I decided, I'm gonna run for the mayor of Glendale. So I have to buy a house there". The reality star acknowledged that it was probably a five-year goal, adding, "You have to have residency there ... so Noelle (Keshishian) and I are like looking into all the requirements. ... She's going to help me with my campaign". Though the idea has already been laughed off by commentators, it may not be as a farfetched as it first appears. A celebrity making the move into politics is by no means a new idea, with action star Arnold Schwarzenegger perhaps being the best example of that. Despite admitting that she has no specific talent, Kardashian has managed to forge a business empire estimated to be worth $35 million and Glendale's large American-Armenian population could help her campaign. A statement from her representative read, "Kim has always looked for opportunities to grow and also do what she can to help and support the Armenian community. She's learning more about ways in which she can help to do her part to make a difference in the community".
