MARION 'SUGE' KNIGHT will face a lawsuit if he continues with plans to call his music label Blackball Records - the owners of a company with the same name are threatening him with legal action.
Knight co-founded Death Row Records in 1991 but lost the rights to the label's assets after declaring bankruptcy in 2006. The company was subsequently sold off and Knight started a new label - reportedly using the Blackball name since 2008.
But the owners of another Blackball Records, a San Fransisco, California-based firm, have issued a cease and desist letter to Knight, warning him to drop the name or face a showdown in court.
Knight claims to have filed for the copyright in 2006, but dropped it earlier this year (09), according to TMZ.com, while officials at Blackball Records claim to have held the trademark since 2002.
