Kristen Stewart has issued a public apology to her boyfriend Robert Pattinson, admitting that she cheated on him by having a fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, according to People magazine.
The revelations rocked the web earlier on Wednesday (July 25, 2012), though some had doubts over the legitimacy of 'photographic evidence' of the pair together. However, that has now been rendered largely irrelevant by Stewart, who said, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry". 41-year-old British director Rupert Sanders is married to the model Liberty Ross and the pair have two children together. Earlier today, Ross posting "Wow" on her Twitter page before deleting the account entirely. She may have known about the affair as early as Monday, having reportedly tweeted a Marilyn Monroe quote that read, "Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together!" Stewart and Pattinson have never publically confirmed their romance, though they've become increasingly open to being spotted together and were recently snapped kissing at the Cannes Film Festival. Just last week they were laughing and joking at Comic-Con about their intimate scenes together.
It is assumed that the secretive fling with Sanders happened while the pair filmed 'Snow White and the Huntsman' - the filmmaker's directorial debut. Some media outlets are already pointing towards the pair's close chemistry at the premiere of the movie, where Sanders gushed about his time working with the young star. In other snaps, Stewart posed with Rupert's wife Liberty. Pattinson is yet to comment on Stewart's apology.
