Labrinth finds it ''surreal'' that famous stars want to work with him.

The producer-and-singer - who is signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco - admits he was shocked when a string of celebrities wanted to get in touch with him so they could work together on projects.

He said: ''Cheryl [Cole] went over the mountains and far away to find me! She called Chris Martin, Chris called Tinie Tempah and then Tinie hollered at me, 'Lab, Chris Martin says Cheryl needs your number.'

''And I'm like, 'I'm just Labrinth from Hackney, how is this happening?' It was surreal. We should be hooking up soon.''

However, Cheryl is not the only person who is keen to meet up with the 'Earthquake' hitmaker - Alicia Keys and Nicole Scherzinger also want to work with him but he is not in a rush to record so many duets.

He added to Now magazine: ''We had calls from Alicia Keys and Nicole Scherzinger - it's made. I'm going to work with one, then maybe save the other til next year. I'm talking about them like they're Pokemon cards!''
