Lady GaGa dropped by Howard Stern's radio show on Monday (18th July 2011) to perform and discuss her latest single 'The Edge of Glory', but instead began revealing details of her history with drugs. In a near one-hour long interview, Stern had Gaga speaking candidly about using cocaine and ecstasy, reports E! Online.
The radio host got straight to the heart of the matter, telling Gaga, "When you talk about getting high, I mean, you were doing some hard core drugs, you were into coke and you loved Ecstasy so much", with the singer interrupting, "No, not then.I did later". When quizzed on what drew her to illegal substances, the multi-million selling singer explained, "My past using any drugs or dressing any certain way was never a rebellion, it was never meant to be a f*ck you.I was so unhappy", adding, "Yeah. I think that I was lonely and there was something about the drugs that made me feel like I had a friend.I didn't do it with other people. I did it alone". She went on to reaffirm she no longer does drugs, calling cocaine "the devil" and urging her fans not to "touch it".
Lady Gaga's second studio album, which debuted at No.1 in over 25 countries, sold 1.1 million copies during its first week of sales in the U.S. alone.
