Lady GaGa is all heart at the moment - no that's not a comment in relation to a new dress made of entrails - the singer first launching the Born This Way Foundation and now also readying her Christmas-themed workshop in upmarket department store Barneys ahead of the seasonal holiday, with 25% of all purchases from it going to the recently set up foundation.
The 25 year-old has been in the headlines for a myriad of different reasons - some good, some bad - all year, but there's little wrong with the mega star's current endeavours, with the Born This Way Foundation aiming to aid "youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change," according to last week's MTV.com report. To supplement the charity, Gaga's workshop at Barneys will aim to remind people of the giving and charitable spirit of Christmas.
The workshop reportedly comprises of eight stations, a Candy Shop, Toy Shop, Closet (for apparel and accessories), Library (for books, CDs and other media), Gallery (for collectibles and specialty items), Jewelry, Boudoir (for candles and cosmetics) and Holiday. Of course, it wouldn't be Gaga without being a little weird; the entrance to the shop in New York will be a giant facade of the singer herself, with customers effectively walking into her gaping mouth. The workshop opens on November 21st 2011 just before midnight.
