Melancholic rocker RAY LaMONTAGNE forces himself not to drink alcohol, because he is prone to depression and fears the consequences.
The TROUBLE singer is scared there's a beast within him that will be unleashed if he drinks.
He says, "I try not to (drink) as I have a tendency towards melancholy. So if I start drinking I get drawn deeper and deeper into anger. It escalates until I am somewhere I don't want to be.
"So I try to be aware of that and realise that moderation is the key."
