Model Lauren Scruggs remembers little about the bizarre plane accident which cost her an eye and a hand last year (11).
The pretty blonde suffered horrific injuries in December (11) after walking into an airplane propeller. She was fitted with prosthetics and has been undergoing extensive rehab treatment ever since.
She made her first TV appearance since the accident on U.S. breakfast show Today on Thursday (09Aug12) during a visit to the London 2012 Olympic Games, and she revealed her Christian faith has helped pull her through the toughest of times.
She said, "I'm feeling good. I think, physically, it's good that I'm off my pain medication and haven't had pain since January, so that's a blessing. Emotionally, days are hard sometimes, just accepting the loss of my eye and hand, but it just gets better and I realise that God is in control of my life and there's a purpose in this story. Spiritually, I've just learned to live by faith and not by sight."
The 24 year old insists she is "doing OK and healing", but admits she is struggling to recall the accident itself.
She added, "I remember my feet touching the ground and getting out of the plane, but that's all I remember."
Scruggs, who has detailed her astounding recovery in her new memoir, Still Lolo, was given a special surprise during the interview - gold medal-winning U.S. gymnast Gabrielle Douglas was on hand to greet the model and praise her for her bravery.
