Movie star MARTIN LAWRENCE paid tribute to the teacher who "started me off on my way to comedy" on late-night TV in America on Thursday night (08Apr10) after revealing she was very ill.
The Bad Boys star was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when he took a moment to remember Miss Henderson, who encouraged him to become a comedian at an early age.
He said, "She gave me a card to an open mic (comedy night) and said, 'You know what, you're so funny, I enjoy it, go try it out...' She sent me on my way.
"I'm asking all y'all to say a prayer for her because she fell ill... I love you Miss Henderson."
