Chris Brown's lawyer has blamed the singer's one-time love rival Drake for the injuries and damages allegedly caused following the pair's infamous brawl in a New York night club last year (12).

The two artists' entourages clashed during a night out at popular hotspot W.i.P. in June (12) after the two males reportedly exchanged words over pop beauty Rihanna, who was romantically linked to Drake following her 2009 split from Brown.

Many clubbers were left bloodied by flying bottles during the fracas, including basketball player Tony Parker, who filed suit against venue bosses claiming his eye was injured as a result of the fight.

Another plaintiff, male model Romain Julien, launched legal action against Drake, Brown and W.i.P. owners seeking compensation over a severed tendon in his hand, but the Kiss Kiss hitmaker's attorney has distanced the singer from any involvement in the incident, according to the New York Daily News.

In response to the lawsuit, recently filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, the lawyer insists Drake should be held responsible for the fight because Brown and the people "under his control" had nothing to do with the fall-out, adding, "Injuries and/or damages would have been caused in whole or in part by defendants Aubrey Graham Drake (and) W.i.P. Club".

A representative for Drake, who has denied any wrongdoing, has yet to comment on Brown's response to Julien's lawsuit.

Drake and Brown learned they would not face charges for the club fight in November (12) due to a lack of evidence in the police investigation.
