Leann Rimes - LeAnn Rimes edits lawsuit against dentist
LeAnn Rimes was part of her lawsuit against dentist Dr.Duane C. McKay to be dismissed because his corporation no longer exists but is still suing him personally for allegedly ruining her teeth
Leann Rimes wants part of her lawsuit against her ex-dentist to be dismissed.
The country singer - who began suing Dr. Duane C. McKay in February, claiming his work was ruining her career - filed a ''request for dismissal'' in Los Angeles on Monday (22.04.13) against the dentist's corporation 'Duane C. McKay, A Professional Dental Corporation' against prejudice because it no longer exists but is still suing the dental practitioner directly, who she claims left her in terrible pain and her mouth often bleeds because of his work.
A source close to the 30-year-old star told gossip website RadarOnline.com: ''This is not the end of the case.''
LeAnn claims she has had to undergo nine painful root canal surgeries, bone grafting and needed to have a temporary bridge fitted after Dr. McKay allegedly botched work on her teeth, which included upper front veneers and crowns that he claimed would improve their appearance and ease her TMJ-related pain, over three years.
In the lawsuit, Rimes claims she will have a ''permanent cosmetic deficiency'' as a result of Dr. McKay's work and the pain she has endured has stopped her from singing and performing live.
The 'Crazy Women' singer is seeking unspecified damages for physical, emotional and psychiatric injuries and is seeking cash for loss of past and future earnings.
LeAnn - who is married to Eddie Cibrian - has often taken to her Twitter account to complain about her teeth troubles.
Last February, she tweeted: ''K, coming clean ... I had minor surgery this week and I've been in SO much pain it's not even funny.
''Nothing major just annoying! Pain pain go away!!!!!! When it's mouth pain and jaw pain it makes your whole head pound! YUCK. (sic)''
