R&B star John Legend has helped to raise an impressive $540,000 (£337,500) for an Aids research charity after auctioning off two private concerts during a benefit in Italy.
The Green Light hitmaker was one of the star attractions at amfAR's 25th annual gala in Milan on Friday (23Sep11), and his two lots sold for $270,000 (£168,750) each.
The event, hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum, also saw a bidding war erupt between celebrated designers Roberto Cavalli and Margherita Missoni over a piece of art.
According to the New York Post, the item was eventually claimed by the veteran fashion icon after Missoni declared, "I'm too young to outbid a legend!"
