Lennon Drawing Used For Holiday Cards
An illustration by John Lennon is to be sold as a Christmas card for an international charity - 42 years after it was originally printed. The late Beatle's Fat Budgie drawing will be reprinted for the first time this year (07) by Oxfam, after Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, 74, granted permission to the famine relief organisation to use the artwork. Ono - who has already ordered 200 of the cards for herself - says, "John supported Oxfam so it is wonderful that his illustration can continue to help Oxfam in its important work." The illustration was debuted in 1965, at the height of The Beatles' fame. The reprint of the drawing is to mark Oxfam's 50th anniversary.
