British singer Leona Lewis has cleared up recent allegations she plagiarised her song Collide from a new dance DJ, insisting the up-and-coming club star will get a split of the single's publishing rights.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker debuted her new dance-themed tune last week (15Jul11), prompting bosses at Ministry of Sound Records to claim the song is a rip-off of young producer DJ Avicii's instrumental club track, Penguin.
Bosses at the Ministry of Sound allegedly fired off a letter to Lewis' label chiefs at Simon Cowell's Syco imprint, ordering them to pull Collide from the radio.
Now Lewis has explained that Avicii himself sent the song out to artists to have lyrics written over his music, and insists he will receive credit and a split of the song's rights when it is released.
On her Twitter.com page, she writes, "With regards to my song, Avicii was aware & agreeing publishing splits for himself and his manager. When Avicii sent his track out to have a song written over it I totally fell in love with this version and I think he's super talented."
