A battle over the estate of late singer GERALD LEVERT has erupted between the star's business manager and two women whose children he fathered. The singer left behind an estimated $2 million (GBP1 million) in assets including two homes, two cars, jewellery and bank accounts, according to reports. Proceedings to distribute the estate began in March (07), under the guidance of his manager and cousin Anthony Gibson. However, the mothers of 17-year-old LeMicah Levert and eight-year-old Camryn Levert claim Gibson failed to inform them of his plans, but the pair now hope to fight to win the right to a proportion of their late father's assets as his next-of-kin. Gibson planned to distribute the estate at Cuyahoga County Probate Court, Ohio, where the singer lived and spent most of his free time, but the mothers' lawyers insist proceedings should take place in Geauga County in the state, where Levert once kept a home. Steven Cox, acting on behalf of the two women, says, "We are met with a lot of resistance." A third child, Carlysia Levert, 17, is set to inherit some of the $2 million left by Levert. Levert died in November 2006 of an accidental prescription drug overdose aged 40.
