Lily Allen Postpones Us Gigsby Contributor | 18 August 2007
Lily Allen has been forced to postpone her upcoming tour of the US because of difficulties about her visa to the country.
The singer was due to play six gigs in the US starting on September 9th and perform at this year's MTV Awards on the trip.
But today it was revealed she has been forced to admit that reports about the revocation of her visa were true.
Allen had earlier denied claims that her visa problems were linked to US authorities questioning her about an incident in March in which she allegedly attacked a photographer, however.
In a statement on her blog, she said: "I am so disappointed that I won't be able to come to the 'States at this time.
"I was really looking forward to playing these shows and being part of the Video Music Awards. I want my fans to know that I'll be back as soon as I possibly can!'
Having endured a hectic schedule in the last few weeks, Allen was forced to pull out of gigs in Norway, Sweden, Portugal and Holland on Tuesday because of a sore throat.
She also cancelled a number of US tour commitments in May and June, justifying her pullout by saying she was "tired" and not giving her "best performances".
