Lindsay Lohan's publicist has confirmed reports suggesting the actress was hospitalised in New York over the weekend (22-23Sep12), revealing her asthma sparked the health scare.
The Mean Girls star was admitted to Mt. Sinai medical centre in the Big Apple on Sunday (23Sep12) and initial reports suggested she was suffering with a lung infection.
However, her spokesman Steve Honig has now revealed her hospitalisation was down to an ongoing asthma battle.
He tells Wenn, "Lindsay was treated and released, and is doing fine."
Lohan, who was reportedly battling a chest infection, was discharged after receiving medication, and her father Michael has now addressed the drama.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, he says, "She's fine, but she had a bad case of asthma as a kid, so she has to take these things seriously. When she was a kid, we almost lost her a couple of times because of the asthma."
