Lindsay Lohan - Linsday Lohan offered to play Elizabeth Taylor for free?
Lindsay Lohan was so determined the play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the TV biopic 'Liz & Dick' that she offered to play the role for free.
The 'Mean Girls' star plays the late actress in the upcoming TV biopic 'Liz & Dick' and was so determined to land the part she told producers they didn't need to pay her, much to the surprise of her agent.
During a Q&A session on Wednesday (14.11.12) at a Los Angeles screening of the film, she told reporters: ''I didn't get the project at first. I started calling and harassing agents... because I felt people were hesitant [to cast me], which I understood.
''I actually said, 'I'll just do it for free'. My agent was like, 'No, no, no, don't say that'.''
Lindsay even tried to tempt Lifetime network by giving them a cheque to win her the part.
The role marks a big comeback for the star after a troubled few years dealing with legal battles and visits to rehab.
He recently said: ''For Lindsay. I imagine, and I can only imagine ... because she grew up on sets and did her homework on set and fell asleep watching TV waiting to go on set, it's a much more instinctive process. It's much more natural to be in the trailer or on set than anywhere else.''
