LL Cool J will not be charged with assault after fighting a burglar at his home in Los Angeles this week. According to Tmz.com, the rapper-cum-actor "beat the living crap" out of an intruder who he caught in his kitchen, breaking the man's nose and jaw.
The suspect entered the superstar's house at around 2am, though unfortunately for him, LL was at home and very much awake. When he heard a commotion downstairs, the 'Ncis Los Angeles' star went to investigate, only to find the hapless criminal rooting through his stuff. The alarm system had already been tripped - meaning the authorities were on their way - though LL Cool J - real name James Todd Smith - decided to go mano-a-mano with the burglar anyway, detaining him until cops arrived. Law enforcement sources say the suspect is currently hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries. A representative for LL Cool J confirmed that he is safe and unharmed, adding, "He is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities".
Back in June, Kanye West's home in Los Angeles was hit by burglars, though the rapper was performing in Birmingham, England, at the time. It is not thought that the robberies (or attempted robberies) are linked in any way.
