Jennifer Lopez - Lopez And Anthony Suffered Medical Scare With Baby Emme
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony feared for their daughter Emme's life soon after her birth when they discovered a lump on her head.
The singer/actress gave birth to boy and girl twins, Max and Emme, in 2008, but Lopez reveals they suffered a secret medical scare when the kids were still newborns.
In an interview for CNN's upcoming Big Stars, Big Giving TV special, the superstar recalls, "I just remember that feeling of something is wrong with that baby and I'm gonna die.
"I remember looking at Marc and going, 'We should call the doctor'… I started panicking a little bit and he was panicking, too, because… we were thinking, 'Did somebody drop her when we weren't looking?' I just remember looking at him and saying, 'If Emme's not going to be Ok, I'm not going to be Ok.' He's like, 'I'm not going to be Ok - none of us are going to be Ok.'"
Little Emme underwent a series of tests in hospital, but doctors couldn't find anything wrong with the child and sent her home with a clean bill of health.
She is now a happy and healthy three year old and Lopez admits there was one good thing to come out of the terrifying time - she was inspired to launch her charity, the Maribel Foundation, to provide better healthcare for women and children in poorer circumstances.
The Big Stars, Big Giving show, which will also feature interviews with crooner Tony Bennett and former US president Bill Clinton, will air in America over Christmas (24-25Dec11).
