Lorraine Kelly - Lorraine Kelly 'Cried' As She Received Obe
Lorraine Kelly has come forward to admit that she was overcome with emotion when she received her Obe from the Queen in her birthday honour list last month.
She admitted after receiving the award in her native Scotland that she was overwhelmed with emotions after receiving the award and even ended up in tears during the proceedings. She said afterwards: "I cried all the way through, I don't know what the Queen must have thought". The 52-year-old presenter (yep she looks that good at 52!) began her career with her local newspaper in East Kilbride, Scotland, as a trainee reporter before joining Bbc Scotland and later TVam. She received the coveted gong from the Queen for her years of services to charity and the Armed Forces at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
The morning TV star has long supported the Armed Forces and helped launch the UK Armed Forces Day in Edinburgh earlier this year. She has also been involved with numerous charities, including Poppyscotland, and this year took part in the 100km BT Red Nose Desert Trek in Kenya, to raise money for Comic Relief projects. The mother of one attended the service with her mother, husband and daughter Rosie.
